What is good and what is bad ?
What exactly distinguishes the good from the bad..??
Not a text-book question, but this is something that puts me to deep thinking mode....
Every now and then we come across dialogues with common words, " I am a good person" or " We just do good, and that's all..". Do mere these dialogues make us good humans..? We all live in a society, where the real good people are as few as Tigers(Only 1411 left :p). Still, Nobody ever declares that he is a bad man... Does that mean, that we defy the world, when we speak about our courtesy..?? Or ain't we defying ourselves only while making such statements..??
Many a times, I wonder, if only I am not able to judge people... It gets simply baffling, how a person clearly indulged in various anti-social acts, when gets into trouble, just accuses The God for victimizing the 'innocent' him. "God examines His devotees", is the continuous chanting of such people.
If I am asked, I shall say, Good and Bad are only two extremes of the Action. Everybody of us only fluctuates within the same. We can go close to either of them, but never reside on any one of the two. So, the labeling of somebody as a good or bad person is still difficult to be understood by me. And above all, the potential to get changed is, with no exception, in all of us. Transformation of a bad person into a good person is a common central idea of the most of the stories we go through. And who of us is not a good person at one point of time, and a bad person at another point of time..?? Another issue, all of us come from different backgrounds, and have so different mind-sets. How could we have a same definition of good or bad ? Perceptions are more like a personal matter. Norms are acceptable in the way they are, but perceptions can never be the same for two different people. In that case, if something is good in terms of deeds for me, it may get reflected to somebody else as something worth being rejected rather.
I think, if we could draw a real picture of ours, that would be neither black and nor white, but a mosaic... for all of us.
So, what is the relevance of declaring ourselves as good ones... is the question I still strive for the answer of which...
